Wolf Cub 73' Pickguard For Strats (NO OBEL)
Wolf Cub 73’:
This S-Style Pickguard will help players emulate sounds from Jerry Garcia heard in The Grateful Dead Movie and much more. It has the single coil positions moved back slightly to be in the exact positions of Jerry Garcias Wolf guitar, built by Doug Irwin and delivered in 1973. The Strats scale length combined with these pickup positions is by far the most affordable way to obtain Jerry Garcia tones. One DPDT hole is added for phase selection. This can also help accommodate a 24 fret conversion.
Representing the first version of Wolf played by Jerry Garcia, this guard does not come with a OBEL. The OBEL was not introduced to Jerry Garcia until he walked by a shop selling Travis Bean Guitars around December of 1976. When Wolf was returned following repair work by Irwin himself, It had an OBEL, however, it did not yet have a buffer.
